May 12th 2005 Clement turned two years. The day was celebrated with mor and papa, mormor and bedstefar and with the friends in the creche.
Allerede fra morgenstunden demonstrerede Clement overbevisende sans for gaver. Han har nu styr på, at det interessante er under papiret, og at det ikke er æskerne, det drejer sig om.
Already from the morning Clement showed us that he now knows how to open a present. He also knows that the interesting part is beneath the paper, and that it is not the box.
Efter havregrøden var der til behageligt afveksling pain au chocolat til morgenmad. Mor havde sørme for en gangs skyld nået til bageren.
After the porridge a nice change with a pain au chocolat. It is not often that Solveig finds her time to go to the baker in the morning.
Klokken 10 var der fest i vuggeren med kagefad, lys, flag - vi er jo danskere - og fødselsdagssang. Mor og mormor var med i dagens anledning.
At 10 o'clock party in the creche with cakes, candles, flags - we are Danes after all - and birthday song. Mor and mormor were there.
Da Alain kom hjem om eftermiddagen, tændte vi fødselsdagstog igen og drak "poup".
When Alain came back from work in the afternoon, we lit the birthdaytrain again and had a glass or two of "poup".
Clement fik sin gave af mor og papa, der kombinerer endnu en stor interesse: "Bateaux lolo" - både og vand - og man kan oven i købet smide små sten i.
Clement had his present from mor and papa. It combines another big interest of his: "Bateaux lolo" - boats and water - you can even put small stones in it.
Først skulle banen dog lige bygges. Det stod mændene selvfølgelig for.
First however the circuit had to be built. Mens job of course.
Og fyldes med vand.
And filled with water.
Om aftenen manglede vi sådan set kun lagkagen - med jordbær marineret i hyldeblomstsaft - og så selvfølgelig fødselsdagstog.
In the evening we actually only missed the big cake - which arrived with strawberries in juice of elderflower - and then of course once again the birthday train.
Og en lille lait at gå i seng på.
And a small lait to finish a great but rather tiresome day.
